College credit and tuition awards are available to Tech Center students who complete a prescribed program of study and attain sufficient levels of success equivalent to that school’s accepted standards. Transferable credit is also available with minimal course registration fees at several colleges. The information below lists current articulation agreements with maximum credit to be awarded for the 2009-2010 school year. Please note that additional articulation agreements are currently under review and may be added to this list. Course Description

This program prepares students for employment as hair stylists, skin care specialists, hair colorists, and other positions in cosmetology. Upon successful completion of 1,000 hours of training, students are eligible to take the New York State Licensing Examination for Cosmetology. Students study the structure of hair and skin, bacteriology, and sanitation. Students learn procedures and skills for hair styling, coloring, permanent waving, and the care of skin and nails.
