College credit and tuition awards are available to Tech Center students who complete a prescribed program of study and attain sufficient levels of success equivalent to that school’s accepted standards. Transferable credit is also available with minimal course registration fees at several colleges. The information below lists current articulation agreements with maximum credit to be awarded for the 2009-2010 school year. Please note that additional articulation agreements are currently under review and may be added to this list. Course Description

Students interested in a career in education are invited to apply to the Introduction to Teaching Program. This program features integrated academic and professional instruction, competency-based field experience, and preparation for post-secondary study. Course content includes child development, teaching techniques, observation and record-keeping skills, behavior management, social skills, child psychology, and children with special needs. Students are expected to work effectively as team members in both the classroom and workplace. They will explore different career options, evaluate personal strengths, and develop short- and long-term goals. Students in this program pursue a post-secondary degree at two- or four-year colleges.
