Students in this program are eligible for high school academic credit(s) in: English and Math.

Students who also enroll in the Senior Four Hour Option are eligible for credits in: English 12, Economics, Participation in Government and Physical Education.

College credit and tuition awards are available to Tech Center students who complete a prescribed program of study and attain sufficient levels of success equivalent to that school’s accepted standards. Transferable credit is also available with minimal course registration fees at several colleges. The information below lists current articulation agreements with maximum credit to be awarded for the 2009-2010 school year. Please note that additional articulation agreements are currently under review and may be added to this list. Course Description

Advertising Art & Digital Design students develop studio and creative conceptual thinking skills through various interesting and exciting art projects. Students learn the
building blocks that enhance their skills so they will be able to express their ideas in a creative and professional manner.We have an incredible studio space and hang our art in our own gallery!

Students are taught about various design methods and materials and how to apply them to their current projects.They learn critical thinking skills that help them develop superior solutions to creative problems. In addition students are exposed to state-of- the-art equipment and the industry standard, Adobe Creative Suite, on both Mac andWindows platforms.Many projects are delivered to the students as "live jobs," with the class running like a professional agency, including all the various checkpoints, deadlines and presentations. It is these types of projects that prepare the students for a post-secondary education upon graduation from our program which opens doors to career oportunities such as:

    • Illustrator
    • Graphic Designer
    • Interior Designer
    • Cartoonist
    • Package Designer
    •Textile Designer
    • Set Designer
    • Medical Illustrator
to name only a few.

Classes offer a lot of one-onone instruction which enhances the learning experience. In addition, at the end of two years, students will have developed a professional portfolio which is required for admission to post-secondary art schools or employment. Each students is challenged on a daily basis, pushing the right side of his/her brain to the limit. It's all very exciting. It is not your typical art class; it's better!
