Special Education Programs for Students with Disabilities
Grade K through 9 Programs
The Learning Center at Walden
Small classes of no more than eight students operate for children whose disability requires and 8:1:1 center-based setting. This program will be offered to elementary, middle, and high school students. Intensive clinical support is provided for all students. Individual and group counseling are included as part of the program.
Learning Center School – Local School Building Programs
These 8:1:1 classes are located in local school buildings. The program is designed for students who require a small structured setting but are able to participate in a regular education setting for selected activities. Individual and group counseling are part of each student's weekly program.
Therapeutic Support Programs at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School
The Oasis and Basic Skills therapeutic programs were formed through a collaborative initiative with the Lakeland Central School District and serve students in grades 6 - 8. Students enrolled in these programs are classified students who require a small, therapeutic support program. Students are typically emotionally fragile and require mild to intensive academic and social/emotional support. In addition to comprehensive academic programs, all students receive individual and/or group counseling as well as other related services per their IEPs.
