Students and staff at The Tech Center donated more than just blood at the annual pre-Halloween drive on the campus of Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES this week. “I have had students who have been here since early in the morning, working as well as donating,” said Tech Center teacher Veronica Farlow.

Health Academy students at The Tech Center run the drive, but students and staff from all departments on campus donate. Samantha Jones, who works in the IT department at BOCES, gives blood often enough to be a gallon donor, but she loved the convenience of donating on campus. “It is wonderful that The Tech Center does this,” she said.

New Visions Health student Kelsey Byrne, from Hendrick Hudson High School, is also an old hand at donating. “I have a universal blood type, so I try to donate often,” she said. “It is awesome that we do the drive here because blood is so needed.”
