Santa and Friends Bring Holiday Fun to Pines Bridge School

December 19, 2018

Pines Bridge School students exchanged hugs and high fives with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman – and a few more friends from the Yorktown Lions Club – during a special holiday visit on Wednesday.

The students enjoyed their time with Santa – and the Lions Club members enjoyed it just as much:

“We spend all year giving back, but for us at this time of year, giving back to the kids is the most important thing,” said the club’s Denise Poulin, who was dressed as an elf. “We love being here.” Other Lions Club visitors included Barry Levin, playing Santa Claus; Rose Mctygue, Mrs. Claus; Jim Poulin, Frosty; Phyllis Bradbury, Minnie Mouse; and Stephen Rice, Elmo.

Pines Bridge teacher Judy Gillet said the annual visit is special because it give the students a chance to enjoy an experience that their typical peers take for granted. Gillet said that, while the students all take it in on different levels, the visit is fun for them and helps them enjoy the holiday season.

“They all feel that something special is going on right now,” she said. “It’s so nice that they come.”
