Fox Meadow High School student Kristofer Maksuti has been named a Student of Distinction thanks to his hard work, effort and fearless spirit.
Maksuti, a senior from the Croton-Harmon school district, was honored during a ceremony Thursday as his parents, Fox Meadow staff and Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES administrators applauded.
“He is such a great asset to this campus,” Fox Meadow Principal Nicole Ginexi said, noting that Maksuti is a natural leader who frequently steps up to help friends and classmates. Patricia Gallo, a health and physical education teacher, said Maksuti is a positive role model to younger students at the school.
“Kris is looked up to by other students, and he accepts this role with responsibility,” she said. “He is a very good athlete, and he often lends a helping hand to other students who do not possess his talent.”  Gallo also praised Maksuti for his involvement in the school’s CODA Club, which raises awareness for young people struggling with co-occurring mental health disorders and addiction.
Maksuti, who praised the teachers and staff who have supported him at Fox Meadow, said he planned to work after graduation for a year before continuing his education.
Ginexi told Maksuti to “go out and wow everybody.
“All of us at Fox Meadow believe in you 100 percent!” she said.
