Education Students Honor Their Mentors at the Tech Center

May 21, 2019

Child Development and Education students at the Tech Center thanked the teachers in whose classes they have been interning at a breakfast held on the Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES campus recently.
In addition to running a preschool two days a week, the students study child development, educational theory, classroom management, and education law with their Career and Technical Education teacher Melissa Davis. Recently they have also been interning with teachers in area schools.
“We are honoring you for opening up your classrooms to my students,” Davis told the teachers  in attendance. “This has been a great opportunity for these students to get real teaching experience while still in high school.”
CTE students handed their teacher/mentors thyme plants for taking the ‘time’ to help them by allowing them to assist in their classrooms.
