Creative Services Department Recognized for Excellence

The Creative Services Department at Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES was recognized for outstanding graphic design and video production by the National School Public Relations Association this week.

Art Director and Graphic Design Specialist Tricia Herbold won an Award of Excellence in the Special Purpose Publication category for a brochure on PNW BOCES Mandarin Chinese initiative produced in collaboration with School Communications.
Herbold also received three Awards of Merit for Special Purpose Publications for Curriculum Matters, a journal of the Curriculum Council; Writing: Journey & Destination, an anthology of works by Young Authors; and Sci21 Ride the Waves: Sound and Light, an original book used in the Science 21 program.

Media Production Specialist Edward Catapano shared two Honorable Mentions with the School Communications Department for videos on the Center for Environmental Education, and Mt. Kisco Elementary School’s Dual Language program.

The Creative Services Department provides consultations and recommendations on a wide range of design options including the creation of signature looks for buildings, conference rooms and hallways that can be aligned with a district’s mission and vision or other key school district initiatives. CSD also provides logos, brochures, letterhead, banners, posters and other visuals to school districts.

In partnership with the School Communications Service, Creative Services also produces videos for a variety of purposes including budget messages, program overviews, welcome videos and more. Coordinator of School Leadership and Marketing Services Jackie Levine oversees the Creative Services Department.
