BOCES Staff Celebrate a Successful School Year

June 26, 2019

A picture-perfect summer day set the scene, as the entire Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES staff gathered together on the Yorktown campus to enjoy brunch, have some fun, and celebrate the conclusion of another successful school year. The end-of-year gathering is a much-anticipated tradition that marks the beginning of summer for many.

District Superintendent Dr. James Ryan welcomed the standing-room-only crowd in the Walden School gym, and thanked each and every department for their efforts throughout the year. He specifically cited the many wonderful year-end celebrations at BOCES’ schools and programs and praised the agency for providing students with the kind of “quality, first-class experiences they would see at their home campuses.”
Following Dr. Ryan’s remarks, a lavish brunch was enjoyed by everyone. The meal, prepared by the Walden Adult Dining Room kitchen staff, featured waffles, quiche, bacon, sausage, pastries and more.

The group gathered together again for some lively Bingo competition, hosted by Assistant Superintendent John McCarthy and Director of Human Resources and Professional Development Mike Skerritt, before departing to enjoy the rest of the beautiful summer day.
