May 16, 2019

PNW BOCES’ CTE students regularly shine at local, regional and national competitions, and at Tuesday’s meeting of the BOCES Board, a group of those students were recognized for their recent accomplishments in the ProStart and SkillsUSA competitions.

District Superintendent James Ryan presented honorary certificates to Culinary Arts students Hailey Hernandez (Carmel) and Ke’Ajahnai Ridenhour (Hendrick Hudson), Medical Assistant student Brianna Lux (Somers) and Digital Film, Video & Audio Production students Kayla Tobias (Yorktown) and Grace Romer (Lakeland). Hailey and Ke’Ajahnai recently placed 15th out of 46 teams at the national ProStart competition in Washington, DC, the highest placement for a New York management team, ever! Brianna, Kayla and Grace all placed first in the New York State SkillsUSA competition, and now all three are heading to Kentucky for the national championships in June!
