At BOCES, Veterinary Students Learn from Environmental Staff About Animal Species

March 07, 2019

Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES’ spirit of collaboration was in full swing when its Veterinary Science students visited BOCES’ Center for Environmental Education facility recently. Career and Technical Education students in the vet program learned about the different types of animals CEE members work with, providing them with hands-on learning right on their own campus.
“Both my first- and second-year Veterinary Science students got to see the CEE facility and learn about owls, hawks, snakes, and turtles, among other animals,” said Veterinary Science teacher Christina Urbanski.
“My students were very excited to see the animals and learn about the care that goes into keeping them. They are anxious to visit again!”
