DUTIES:
Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES has an immediate opening for a full time leave replacement Special Education English Teacher. Candidate will be responsible for collaborating with fellow teachers, clinicians and administrators to develop and provide instruction in a secondary classroom for students with special needs enrolled in an alternative setting. Participate in Lead Teacher model. Write comprehensive and timely reports for IEPs. Communicate with parents and other stakeholders as needed. QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have NYS dual certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities 7-12) and English. Applicant should possess the following skills: knowledge of curriculum development, teaching methods, classroom management techniques and lesson plan development.

Substitute teachers are needed to work on a per diem basis for the Career and Tech Center at PNW BOCES. Successful candidates will work in an exciting, collaborative, team based environment where they will follow developed lesson plans in various career and trade area programs. Some examples of substitute duties include: Maintaining a safe classroom environment, supervision of students in various classroom settings such as technical classrooms and computer labs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must has a desire to work with students in grades 10-12, and to assist them in achieving their goals in their chosen field of study. Must be organized, thoughtful, positive, and able to follow developed lesson plans. Good communication skills to deal effectively with students, staff, and administrators. Teacher or Teaching Assistant certification preferred, but not required. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
