DUTIES:
Culinary Arts teacher needed full-time January 31, 2017 through April 11, 2017 to teach culinary arts to high school juniors and seniors. Candidate must be able to work with advanced students as well as students with special needs. Collaborate with other Tech Center teachers to develop integrated projects, new programs and/or initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer Teacher Certification in culinary arts instruction along with industry experience in the culinary arts. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of the culinary arts to include, food production, knowledge of food safety, and front office front office operations.

CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED:
Able to develop hands on lessons in the culinary arts for two hours daily, and collaborate with other Tech Center teachers. Prior teaching experience preferred.

Bilingual Psychological Evaluator

DUTIES:
The bilingual psychologist evaluator works on a per diem basis for the Guidance and Child Study Center at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES. The psychologist uses his/her skills as a bilingual evaluator to identify the student’s needs as stated in the referral. This typically includes such activities as assessment of language proficiency in the relevant languages spoken, determination of the family’s language history, consideration of cultural background, selection of appropriate evaluation instruments (i.e. academic, behavioral and/or cognitive evaluation tools), and other steps as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified NYS School Psychologist w/ Bilingual Extension

CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED:
The candidate must be fluent and capable of evaluating students in any of the following languages: Albanian, Arabic, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Russian, Spanish, Urdu.

DUTIES:
Substitute teachers are needed to work on a per diem basis for the Career and Tech Center at PNW BOCES. Successful candidates will work in an exciting, collaborative, team based environment where they will follow developed lesson plans in various career and trade area programs. Some examples of substitute duties include: Maintaining a safe classroom environment, supervision of students in various classroom settings such as technical classrooms and computer labs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must has a desire to work with students in grades 10-12, and to assist them in achieving their goals in their chosen field of study. Must be organized, thoughtful, positive, and able to follow developed lesson plans. Good communication skills to deal effectively with students, staff, and administrators. Teacher or Teaching Assistant certification preferred, but not required. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Teacher Aides needed to work with students with disabilities in a variety of programs. The position requires an ability and willingness to assist students in areas such as: managing behavior, lifting and assisting to enable all self-care activities, mobility, communication, therapies, and feedings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and an equivalent amount of experience and training sufficient to indicate ability to perform the work.
