DUTIES:
Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Teacher Aide or Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one in small group settings with students that have behavioral challenges to deescalate crisis situations where the student(s) are acting out; provide program-wide, active response to instructional staff when a crisis situation emerges; complete post event debriefing and associated paperwork documenting a crisis situation including but not limited to situations when students present a danger to oneself or others; and provide turnkey training to staff members and parents on research-based intervention strategies. There is a $3,000 annual stipend for this appointment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Crisis Intervention Specialists must maintain their Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification in order to remain in their role and receive their stipend.

IT Operations Manager

DUTIES:
Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a full time vacancy for an IT Operations Manager to assist the Director of Information Technology with the supervision of department staff, management of IT Operations/Infrastructure/Services, project management, strategic planning, goal-setting, implementation of industry best practices, etc. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing implementation/planning/project leadership and subject matter expertise in the areas of: organizational intelligence(data), IT applications, infrastructure, telephony, web development, etc.
  • Managing operations/technical projects ensuring that they are of the highest quality and delivered on time.
  • Assisting in the establishment of organizational intelligence systems for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data in usable and meaningful ways.
  • Providing expert “hands on” IT infrastructure and end-user support as necessary.
  • Interacting with the agency end-user community to understand/assess future needs and capitalize on opportunities to improve the delivery of IT services.
  • Preparing technical documentation and conduct training for technical/non-technical agency staff and the end-user community.
  • Working with the Web Application Development team to make updates and drive necessary code-level changes to custom applications.
  • Assisting with budget preparation, monitoring, and management of available funds.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must qualify through Civil Service (Title to be determined) or possess appropriate NYS Administrator Certification (SDL/SDBL). Additional qualifications of the position include:

  • Experience in leading a technology team, including employee development/management.
  • Proven experience in the leading of operations and technical implementation projects.
  • Understanding of data analysis, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of computer hardware (including servers), software, infrastructure, virtualization, telephony, relational databases, and web development.
  • ITIL, Agile, and/or PMP certification is preferred.

  • Greet students and staff in friendly and welcoming manner
  • Enter student meals into the POS system ensuring that all transactions are accurate
  • Accurately post cash or check deposits to student meal accounts
  • Notify kitchen staff of special requests or dietary needs of students
  • Perform cancellations and other special transactions through the POS system
  • Keep the register station stocked with all necessary items
  • Clean and organize the cafeteria serving area when necessary
