Next year is the 400th anniversary of the explorations of Hudson and Champlain. Kenneth jackson believes this anniversary is more important than Jamestown's founding. He says, "Jamestown disappearesd. New York City went (on) to be the greatest city in the world." (Journal News, May 27, 2008, page 2A)
