After teaching this curriculum for several years, I finally realized that the downfall of the Maya civilization really had nothing to do with the Spanish Conquest.  As a result, this lesson will be rewritten to focus on the Aztec civilization and its interaction with Hernan Cortes.  This will also lead to the revision of Lesson 3 so that the essay will be comparing and contrasting the Aztec and Inca.

 The Maya Civilization will no longer be included in this unit.
