When teaching this lesson today, I found that the background information text provided with the lesson was too difficult to be considered accessible to 3rd graders.  Was this meant to be for teachers only?

Yes, Suzanne, The background information was actually written for teachers, by request, to familiarize them with the material in case it is new for them

Which background information in Lesson 10 do you mean? I am looking at a lesson on Symbols and I see a short paragraph about the bald eagle. Is that it? I am going to alert Mirla to log into the discussion board to reply to this and your other question as well.
