Early Childhood Certification Pathway


The Early Childhood Education program prepares students to work as caring, socially responsible and reflective teachers of children from birth through grade 2.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE CERTIFIED IN CHILDHOOD (Gr 1-6), REQUIRED COURSES OF THE PROGRAM ARE:

Content Core
  • 6 Credits each in Mathematics, Science, and History or Social Studies
  • Pedagogical Core
  • A course in methods of Teaching Literacy **
  • TWO courses (6 Credits) specifically and only in Early Childhood Education **

Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) Workshop
Content Specialty Test - Multisubject (Birth-Gr 2)

** Any relevant courses you have taken anywhere, undergrad, grad, anytime, may count towards these requirements.
