Hudson River Teacher Center (HRTC)

Twenty-eight years of operation and still going strong! HRTC has been in existence since 1986 and has been recognized for the creative and innovative programs that support the professional development needs of all educators in the region.

The Hudson River Teacher Center, located on the campus of Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES, is comprised of the districts of Briarcliff Manor, Croton-Harmon, Hendrick Hudson, Lakeland, Peekskill, and PNW BOCES. The teacher center’s policy board is a composition of teacher, administrator, parent, business partner, community, and college representatives. Policy board members provide guidance to ensure the center is providing all educators the opportunity to take a proactive role in their own staff development while supporting district, state, and national initiatives. The Hudson River Teacher Center serves all educational professionals; regular, special and occupational education professionals, speech pathologists, support staff, teacher assistants, and aides.

HRTC offers educators many options to continue their growth as lifelong learners; these options include masters’ degree programs, advanced certificate programs, and specialized trainings, e.g., Wilson training and Orton-Gillingham Training, coursework for Career Tech Educators, and teacher assistant college courses. HRTC partners with several regional colleges and other educational entities to provide varied programs and trainings to fulfill the needs of the many educators that view HRTC as their professional development provider. Programs and trainings are scheduled throughout the year to support the scheduling needs of our community of educators.

We applaud our educators as they endeavor to provide students with the support, skills, knowledge, and perseverance to achieve their goals.
